ALTERNATIVE DESCRIPTION
Given a list of EHR buildings each bureau or office would list those known from their
normal operations to be DNR's. Each DNR would be prioritized using internal knowledge of
the organization. All available funds would be used on rehabilitation as much as possible.
BENEFITS
DISADVANTAGES
No additional information is required.
Process can be done in the office.
Fewer buildings would be evaluated.
More effort would eventually have to be
placed on determining which other buildings
need to be evaluated.
Buildings known to need seismic
rehabilitation will have almost all available
seismic funds available for mitigation.
Mitigation and cost estimate would be
based on empirical data, previous
construction costs, etcetera.
Funding authorizations may be difficult
to obtain.
Interior will not be in compliance with EO
or ICSSC guidance. Therefore, the OMB
will need to grant an exemption from the
EO to Interior.
