STRUCTURAL CRITERIA  R A.` ` Outlet Pipe Extension(#` XX` ` The outlet pipe extension will be an 18 inch inside diameter, 1/2 inch thick wall steel pipe equivalent to the existing pipe with protective coating inside and out. The foundation under the pipe should be carefully stripped and excavated to remove soft material and replaced with well compacted fill to minimize differential settlement as the additional embankment is constructed.(#`  R B.` ` Spillway Sill(#` XX` ` The design dimension (thickness) and reinforcing steel will be the same as the existing sill. However, it will be deepened to cutoff into rock. The concrete will be 3000 psi in strength with air entrainment. For that portion below spillway ground level, the spillway sill could be open cut and formed or a trench could be excavated with a backhoe, the steel placed and then the trench backfilled with concrete. The sill should be excavated into sound rock.(#`  R C.` ` Parapet Wall(#` XX` ` Precast median barriers will be set on a shallow continuous spread footing to maintain alignment. The footing will be a 6" by 36" footing of 3000 psi concrete and nominal reinforcement.(#` r#,((Ԍ R D.` ` Slide Gate(#` XX` ` The slide gate will require a stem extension and new thrust block at top of raised embankment. This will require an opening through the parapet wall for the stem.(#`
